‘OK Computer’, el mejor disco de los últimos 20 años
Volvemos con las listas, porque la revista Spin acaba de publicar su selección de los mejores discos de los últimos 20 años. El ganador es el ‘OK Computer’ de Radiohead. Estos son los primeros diez puestos:

Y, como ocurre con todas las listas, se arrepintieron de algunas decisiones anteriores ya que en una lista previa eligieron el ‘Nevermind’ como el mejor disco de los 90. Suena un poco a lo que pasó con la lista de lo mejor de los 90 de la RDL y, luego, la que sacaron de los mejores discos de la historia en la que Massive Attack no dejaba de caer puestos, que cae un puesto más y el ‘Blue Lines’ no entra.
En cuanto a mi disco favorito de los últimos 20 años… no es sorpresa porque lo digo siempre, pero a día de hoy sigue siendo el ‘Loveless’ de My Bloody Valentine. Bueno, la verdad es que estoy entre ése y el ‘Bleed like me’ de Garbage, que si lo escucho tanto por algo será :D.

Yo hubiera metido el “Ill Comunication” de los Beastie Boys entre los tres primeros, con el “Nevermind” y “Surfer Rosa”, sin duda.

A mi eso de los diez mejores de diferentes disciplinas (musica, cine, etc.) me parece una tonteria, entre otras cosas porque a menudo se comparan estilos totalmente diferentes. ¿Quien puede decir que Kubrick sea mejor que Hitchkock, si básicamente cuentan diferentes historias de diferentes formas? Lo mismo con la música.

Los NWA he rebuscado y son un grupo de hip-hop que desconozco. El disco que sacan en la lista es del 89.
A mí el OK Computer nunca me ha emocionado demasiado. Me gusta… pero sin más. Yo también creo que es otro disco que está sobrevalorado.
Al Dummy lo habrán dejado, o bien en los puestos que faltan, o como el resto de discos del triphop, habrá caído ya olvidado. También se conocen ya los últimos de la lista, donde sí que hay cosas de los últimos años (en los 10 primeros puestos, excepto el ‘ok computer’ el resto de los discos son del período 85-95).

NWA son efectivamente Niggers with attitude. Tuvieron un super hit llamado “A bitch is a bitch” donde pasaban revista al genero femenino en su totalidad (incluidas sus madres y hermanas) con esa actitud tan “pimp” de considerar a todas las mujeres unas putas. El disco es muy bueno, pero nada comparado con Flavour Flav y sus adláteres. Yo creo que el mejor disco de los últimos 20 años ha sido “His and Hers” y punto.

Estoy de acuerdo con la apreciación general de “OK Computer”. Creo que es un disco más influyente de los 90, no sólo por sus méritos musicales que tiene muchos, sino también por el sentido político que hay en sus textos. Es una condenación al mundo moderno occidental con sus falsas priopidades fundados en lo material. Lo irónico es lo que caunta plata ganó Thom and Co. con este disco!

A mí lo que me sorprende gratamente es que Pavement esté en el puesto 4, ya era hora que se acordaran de un grupo que ha influido mucho en la mayoría de los grupos indies-rock que salen ahora. Recomiendo a todos que escuheis a Pavement, os va a sorprender.

Hola amigos. Para mi el Ok Computer! no está ni mucho menos sobre valorado. No sé si tal vez merece ser el mejor, pero de que es un discazo, no me cabe la menor duda, y de que es lo mejor que haya hecho y hará un pedazo de dios de la música, Tom York. ¿Cómo se mide si un disco es el mejor?. Bueno, un aspecto son las ventas, otro muy importante es el factor innovador, pero creo que un factor fundamental es que el disco dé sensación, que influya a quienes lo oigan, y sobre todo, que cree admiración, una forma de vida. En esa línea, para mí el mejor disco es el Mellon Collie de Smashing Pumpkins sin ninguna duda. Me tiré literalmente colgao 3-4 años con ese disco, hasta que llegó el Adore y luego el desengaño, la disolución del grupo, que por cierto ayer me entere que Billy Corgan va a reunir el grupo, es oficial. La cosa es que me pasaba el día dibujando corazones con SP, murciélagos enjaulados (Bullet with butterfly wings) y todos los dibujitos del libretom que por supuesto era original. Me compré como 20 concierto piratas de esa época, singles, BSO,…
Eso hace que un disco sea mejor que otro, no solo la música. Para mí el Machina no tiene menos calidad musical que el Mellon Collie, sino más, pero no transmitía lo mismo.
